ISP E P ACI FI C NO RTHW E ST CH AP TE R NEW SL E TTE R January 2013 PAGE 1 President’s Message by Erik Westover Happy New Year! 2012 was a good year for the ISPE PNW Chapter. We had some successful repeats of our standard events like the Georgetown Brewery Tour and our Annual Golf Tournament at Willows Run. We also introduced some new events like a Poker Themed Vendor night and hosted the Affiliate from Japan. We look to build on the successful events and try other formats as we move into 2013. For starters, we will be having a Sustainability Commuter Conference that will focus on sustainability and LEED as it relates to the Life Science and the Annual Georgetown Brewery Tour (one of our most popular events so register early!). The ISPE board also wants more involvement from our members. We want to hear from you. For starters, we need your help to fill up our event calendar for the year. I want to encourage you to submit YOUR ideas for events. We are looking for facility tours, panel discussions, speaking and presentations related to the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device sectors that provide opportunities for sharing information, education and networking. Please submit your ideas to our Association Office. We are also publishing this newsletter monthly via e-mail in order to keep everyone informed about what is going on. If you have published a white paper or have some content that may interest the members please submit them for consideration by the Board. This is a great way to education others and publish your work. The Board will review and consider all submissions. Finally, we are looking for help planning, organizing and facilitating our functions throughout the year. We have space for volunteers to support the board members within a number of committees including involvement in the following: Membership, Young Professional Students and Programs. I look forward to hearing from you all and seeing you all at our events in 2013! ISP E PA CIF IC NO RT HW E ST CHAP TE R NEW SLET TE R January 2013 PAGE 2 Advertise with the ISPE PNW Chapter!
