applications, he thinks further action can be held off until next semester.
Bob Buell reported that the fire academy has been changed, and our program is now
many hours short. We will have to modify our existing courses to include more
laboratory hours, and they have to be in place for Fall 2014. He asked Bob to make the

Good of the Order
Kaaren told the committee that she has been supporting the Curriculum Committee for a
third of her life and that a couple of times in her career at Chabot her supervisor has tried
to take committee responsibilities away from her. She held on because the committee has
been the one constant in a sometimes chaotic career. Kaaren then told the committee
with regret, that she has turned in her letter of retirement, and her last day will be
January 31, 2015. Wayne expressed the committee’s appreciation for Kaaren’s hard
work, depth of knowledge and exceptional minutes. Kaaren received a standing ovation
from the committee.
Stacy said, “Let the minutes show that I was not one of the supervisors who tried to take
the committee away from Kaaren.”
Debbie reminded the committee that she, too, is retiring, and she will be leaving next
week. Wayne expressed the committee’s appreciation for Debbie’s service.
Mireille reported that a psychology proposal has just been launched.
