FIELD WORK RELATIONS
Catalog Description
5 - Field Work Relations
(May be repeated 3 times.)
1 unit
Practice of Spanish language in a real setting and involvement with local Hispanic culture through
volunteer field work in a local Hispanic community organization. Three class meetings in addition to
approximately 4 hours per week of volunteer work. Strongly recommended: completion of or
concurrent enrollment in Spanish 2A. 4 hours laboratory.

Expected Outcome for Students:
Upon completion of the course the student should be able to:

communicate in the Spanish language in a real setting;
demonstrate knowledge of the work of Hispanic community organizations in the area;
demonstrate improved knowledge of local Hispanic culture;

1. Field experience in a Hispanic community organization

3. Individualized instruction in Spanish
Assignments and Methods of Evaluating Student Progress:
1. Typical Assignments
a. Meet with the instructor and present an oral progress report of field experience in Spanish
b. Write in Spanish a final report discussing and evaluating field work experience
