the last 5 years,FT/PT faculty ratios, recent retirements in your division, total number of full time and part-time faculty in the division, total
number of students served by your division, FTEF in your division, CLO and PLO assessment results and external accreditation demands.
The current full-time Systems Librarian is retiring this December 2014, therefore, we need to cover this position in order to continue to maintain
the library’s integrated library system (WorldShare), as well as to provide essential library duties: library instruction, reference desk coverage,
and collection development. In addition, the Systems Librarian is responsible for original cataloging, day-to-day trouble shooting, and statistical
reporting, and respond to frequent updates of the catalog, and providing support and training to Classified staff.
Given the urgent need to fill this position, we will need immediate staffing that can be filled by a part-time Systems Librarian. In addition, a
larger pool of adjunct librarians is needed to be available to fill in for full-time librarians who are involved in other professional obligations (i.e.
committee work, conferences, etc.)

In alignment with the Library Core Values, see below, the Systems Librarian plays a critical role in facilitating access to information by being the
go-to person when it comes to maintaining the Library Catalog (World Share). The catalog serves as the primary gateway (entry point) to the
libraries’ collections, both print and electronic, which are essential to information literacy. In addition, the catalog facilitates inter-library loan
between the two colleges; thus, the libraries are able to share collections and the increase available holdings to students.
Also, the Systems Librarian plays an important role in teaching students, faculty and staff how to use the catalog along with other electronic
resources.
