A bit slow at times but otherwise the ability to save and
return to the application periodically is great!
A little confusing
a little unsure about the course i chose. but i'm sure it will be
answered by a counselor
about the resident can't accept my status that why i take to
much time and confused than i left that section.so i don't
know my application allow or not.
Add cricket To game Option.
After application submitted should reiterate need to send all
transcripts from prior high school and/or colleges.
after completing this process I looked at classes available
and every single one is already full.
After seeing the long lines in bldg 100 this morning this
available applicaion format was very much appreciated.

All questions were clear and concise. The entire application
process is easy to complete within half an hour.

Became stuck on the retake part of the College application
where you have to imput your college information.

Because I was previously enrolled in a California CC I was in
the system. But I did not remember my password or
username. Two of the help pages declared "page not found"
when I tried to access the. This made it difficult for me. One
was on the "technical support" under the "other questions"
link. The other was on the application page. under "also need
help loggin on" (page not found).

Before I started the application I thought the Mentor Program
was something different than the CSUMentor Program. So I
think you should mention to students that if they have applied
to a CSU then applying to a community college is the same
username and information as the CSUMentor. It scared me
because I thought someone made an account with my
information. Another concern I have is my social security
number being released to other agencies.

Chabot's application process is state of the art and
streamlined. It is also VERY helpful that returning students
do not have to re-enter all the data. Thanks for a very
positive experience! Very well designed!
College locations need to be udated FIDM only had Sherman
oaks listed. I selected that then changed it to SF campus
myself on the next screen.

answers for UC students taking transferable courses at a

For the Concurrent Student who is applying for a single class
it is a bit complex. I would like to take Pre-Caculus over the
summer to move ahead in school and I found that the
application was a bit confusing to enroll.
For this retired person with post-grad degrees many of the
questions had detail (like dates) that I could only guess at
without time-consuming research and as a former grad from
Chabot (the college at which I am reapplying) this seemed
tediously unnecessary so I guessed at the dates give or
take 10 years. Apologies for inaccuracies.
Frustrated when trying to register online after 11 pm on a
tuesday night. Kept getting dropped. Much better during
business hours.

have more like details about the programs that are open
I am a 42 year old wife and mother going back to school for
the first time in over 20 years. It makes it easy and
convenient and I can't wait to start my college career.
I am a veteran and a dependent of an Acitive Duty Military
member with orders to Alameda CAlifornia in Summer of
2009 but those options were not allowed on the application.
I am pleased but it wouldnt hurt to add more questions
about student aid programs.. thank you

and considering Im used to having to go in to admissions
offices and fill out forms and provide documents this was

i dont understand why i could not register with my other email

I enjoy filling out the application an also hope that the I will
be able to register for my classes for the Fall 09 asap. I am
looking forward to starting classes here at Chabot College
and I'm very excited about it. Hoping I will be able to receive

i feel verry comtruble using the online aplication.
I felt that the application was very invasive.
I filled this out in the comfort of my living room and it took
very little effort. It was clear and easily understood. Due to
the ease of this application I will soon be returning to school
after more than a year of dormancy. Thanks!
I found it very easy and user-friendly interface.
I found the online application easy fast and convienent.
I found the section in which I select colleges attended to need
some work. I intentionally omitted start and end dates for one
college just to see what would happen. I was directed to a
page where my errors were identified. When I returned to the
previous page to correct the errors I found the colleges I
entered to no longer be in the same order. My most recent
college was no longer at the top of the form as is required. It
had been relocated and another college was now at the top
of the form. Additionally I wanted to list a college where I
attended classes but from which I did not graduate or earn a
certificate. I found I could not choose a selection to satisfy
this situation. Without a valid selection I couldn't list the
college.
I found this online registry program to be very convienent
and easily comprehendable.
i had many questions on the application that delayed me from
submiting it but other than that its a must faster process
i had some difficulties using the website at first but it
eventually got better
I have found this to be such a quick and convenient way to
apply. Love that my info stays in the program no matter
when or where I apply. It is easy to use as well.

I have taken classes at Laney College in Oakland CA over
two or three years. Unfortunately I could not remember
which years they were when completing the application for
Chabot. Since I am registering at the last minute I could not
find course completion information from Laney to verify the
exact months and years I attended that campus. I trust that
this failure will not be viewed as an effort to misguide those
who may review my application. If asked to provide this
information I will gladly contact Laney College and ask the
staff to verify the dates of courses completed. Thank you.
I have to take 30 mins to get the application done some of
the questions are not applicable to me. I appreciate that the
process would make it easier for registering for the evening
classes or student returning to take up classess for fun.
I have two parents but the application only asked me for the
information of one parent.

I liked how it was really fast and easy and it didn't take a

I loved the "Finder" tool because I already had an account
and forgot. I used to be a student ages ago. Also I LOVE
that you saved my data so that I didn't need to enter it all
again. Made a huge difference because I'm at work and don't

I only want to take a class
I personally found the easy layout for applying to be straight
forword and easy to deal with.
i preferred this application because it was easy to use and it
did not take as much time as other applications that i have
done before.
I really felt at ease completing the application. While it covers
most of the choices there are some still missing such as:
Ethnicity for Middle Eastern applicants. The choice between
married or unmarried is fine but adding widow will be
appreciated because unmarried does not fit widow. Also I
am currently a student at Cal State East Bay and will
continue to be enrolled and need to take some of the
courses that are offered at Chabot to fulfill my lower division
requirements. I feel there is a missing thread when
completing the form in that area. So I had to choose 4-year
college student option as an alternative. I hope my
comments may help perfect this user-friendly application.
I really liked Chabot's online application it was fast and
convenient it only took me 20 minutes it was great.
I registered last year at Laney College for a summer course
but I'm still a High School student so I don't access Xap that
often. Even though I got on after having the program search
for my account I'm not sure I know what my log-in name
should be.
I think chabot is going to be a great school and i am excited
to attend
I think it was fairly easy to understand and convinient as any
student can apply from unsing the internet.
I think it would be helpful to have comments concerning
variuos questions. For example I go to school in California
but my original residence is in Nevada. So some of the
questions were difficult to answer in terms of this.
i think it's really good and very cautious but some questions
are a little complicated and are oddly phrased i can not
specify any but there are a few questions that follow such a
pattern

I think that this on-line application is helpful for first-time adult
student like myself. It is pretty straight-forward.
i think the counselers were very helpful and made me feel
comfortable with all of the questions i had.

I think there should be an option under the "Education" tab
that indicates if the person is CURRENTLY attending a
college not only indicating a college the person HAS
attended. I was confused about what month and year to put
under "Attended to" because I have not graduated from my
current college yet.
i think this is a very good way for many people to register that
cannot get out to do it or that may be handicaptoo so i think
that this is really good for people.

I was a bit confused when it came to the area in the
application that required information regarding previous
colleges attended. Because I have been a concurrent
enrollment student at Chabot for one and a half years I have
attended college before but I had not graduated yet.
Nevertheless the application process went smoothly and I
hope that all the information required was submitted properly.

taken Ohlone classes over the summer does that mean I
have "been at another college" and that it is not "my first time
at college"

I was shocked and found it super cool that all my information
from when I registered for two other colleges I went to last
year. I breezed threw this whole application in about 4
minutes.
I was surprised with how easy it was.
I was trying to fill out fields for education using my phone
application and was unable to do so because it required
opening a new page. Please change this so that students
may type in the information.
I was trying to register for the spring semester but i wasnt
given the ooption.
I was very impressed to find the schools that I had attended
in the past even in a different state. What an incredible

If you are taking a class only for personal enrichment (ie:PE
art etc..there should be simplier modified application (w/out
all the edu. history). Not necessary.

In a couple of cases the options supplied for required
answers didn't include the correct one. And while I had
clicked the "no college" box I couldn't leave that page without
filling in the "what college?" information. Also: exasperatingly
sluggish.

It is very difficult to delete applications if you do not want
them to be saved in the computer system.

It is very easy to use! At First it was hard to understand that I
had to SCROLL down in the beginning so I kept going back
to the same page I would insert a subtle note to the user(s)
that they should SCROLL down to begin the application

private high school not listed on the high school list. I had to
use the homeschool add a school option for my high school.

It was confusing at first I couldn't tell where start the
application in fine print it said to scroll down to the bottom of
the page then it was easy from there. Also I wish they would
say when the survey would be processed at chabot like 48
hours 24? So I could know when to go.
It was difficult for me to log on because i forgot what my
security question was and i had no way of accesing it. i called
the 800 help line and was told they couldnt help and i had to
contact the school. very inconvenient. there was no other way
to reset. other than that the application process was easy to
understand and complete.
It was difficult to find exactly where and how to apply online
from the Chabot College website.

Requesting Social Security Numbers should be omitted from
the process. The number is assigned to individuals for TAX
purposes only and should NOT be used as identification. I
would suggest a California Driver's License or Identification
Number since that would assist the "residency" verification
process and includes a photo of the holder.

The question re: state taxes-perhaps a pop-up so you can
choose a reason. I lived in another state at that time=my
reason for that answer.

well i actually heard about chabot from my sister so i believe
its a real great college and hope to be hearing from you soon
Well I am interested in the nursing program which would
start in the Fall of 2010 but the application only offered Spring
as a start date. I am a little confused by that.
when entering an address in the address field it was unclear
that both address lines had to be filled in addition to filling out
the city state and zip.
When I got to the education portion of the application it
would not let me proceed without choosing a college that I
had gone to before Chabot. The only “college” I went to was
Silicon Valley College in Fremont for graphic design which
isn’t really a college as far as I’m concerned. When I selected
that it said it was in San Jose. I don’t know if this is the same
college I was speaking of but either way I would have had to
lie about it just so I could proceed to the next section of the
application. I’m just wondering why there isn’t a box that one
can check when they have no prior college experience since
not everyone has that. Also it would be nice to be able to
change my email address but I don’t see where I can do
that. Thank you for the opportunity to bring this to your
attention.

you need to make it more clear how to receive your ID
number. It should be written in bold somewhere obvious.
YOU REALLY DIDNT HAVE TO WAIT ALONG TIME AND IT
WENT AT YOUR OWN PACE WHICH WAS REALLY
GREATE.
You should allow a "not sure" option for those that do not
remember exact dates since in the end we check off that
"all" information is correct but really may not be. That way it
would not appear as we have lied on the application.
Your might want to check your online application server as it
would crash and required reloading the page. This makes
the process rather frustrating but otherwise the questions
asked are reasonable.

i did not find anything confusing while applying online because
the application was well organized including the directions.
I did not have to fill out the complete application since I had
previously filled it out for another college.
I don't feel comfortable giving my Alien # on line and question
about releasing my personal info including Social Secutiry #
should be deleted. I believe that is not legal. No body should
have right to share students social # for any commercial purpose
or any purpose what so ever.
I don't understand why the info on page 9 is excluded from the
info printout.

I found a small glitch in the test when attempting to move from
the "residency 2" page after I had filled out all the necessary
information. I then went to the first page to change the term I
was enrolling for to summer. This caused several pages to
remove their complete status returned me to the "residency 2"
page and would not let me leave that page.
I found helpful staff.
i found it really easy to do my application online it was fast and

"supposed" to anclose all of my information to all the California

clarinet since 7th grade at Gloria.R.Davis and learning under a
band director Mrs.Hendricks. I also continue on playing my
clarinet through out high school for four years with Mrs.Hendricks
again. During my senior year I picked up a second instrument
called Bassoon.
I would rather prefer for every students to apply online so

I would recommend graying out areas after someone selects
options do not apply to them to reduce items to review/read.

I would recommend that when youask for an area of interest to
have a way to click on it and you explain exactly what is deatails.
I myself haven't looked into college and was not able to select an
area of interest except one I was told to come look into. I think
this would help new students when decided on what their area of
study will be for their long term choices in school.

I'm having this same problem in tracking my records there.
I've been married once before and it only allowed me to put in

It's been so long since I used this system I got frustrated
because I forgot what email account and password. The system
was able to see my account but wasn't helpful in assisting me
with my password. You need a "forgot your password" area.
Otherwise once i was logged in it was easy to use.

On at least two questions I had to choose the answer that was
closest to my correct answer; as there is no official person to
inquire to for direction in the "correct" answer. Now I'm worried if
I have "falsified" an answer even though my intent is to be
absolutely truthful and correct in my answers.

there is no "not interested option but there is for PACE and

Some information (mostly abbrerviations) were not explained
which made making selections a challenge. An example is on the
page to select a main course of study I wasn't sure what the
(TR) meant. Having more information on this page would have
been helpful. I asked someone in the online services department
and not only did they "not have a clue" no steps were taken to
obtain this information elsewhere. It was unfortunate.

while at the same time going fast through the each stage of the
process. I helped my sister apply at CSU Easy Bay Concord
campus last year and that was alot longer confusing and finally
after about a week we were able to submit her application with

This was the easiest site to interact with. I especially liked that in
the High School and previous College attendance section ALL
my coices were there! I liked the approximate date for them too.
On the page where I had to enter my SS# I got it wrong the first
time. I liked that the page kept all my other data and only asked
for my wrong data. I have filled out many online registration
forms and yours is a 10 out of 10!

Too many personal questions about race and ethnicity age
history etc. These questions should not be relavent in getting an

Until now I could not apply because on page 4 I could only check
spring 2010 but I wanted to apply for fall 2010. I had a hard time
understanding why I could not apply fall 2010. Some things also
did not apply to me as an international student. Everything else
was good.

What I like about this enrollment is that if you already enrolled
the year before it saves the information for you. So the next year
all you could do is 'Save and Continue.' (:

When begining it took a while to find online application page
when I found it it is very easy and straight forward process. I
hope that school weblink gives clear hint where the online
application should be.
When the application asks if I am interested in the dental
hygiene program the selection reads "no I am no interested". It
is missing the "t". Perhaps it should read: "no I am not
interested". Thanks.
While applying at Ohlone I dont remember having to answer so
many personal questions.
Why do you offer financial aid to everyone? I think the junior
colleges uses taxpayer money to exist. Fees are so low let
applicants save up to attend. Please stop making it so easy for
everyone to get this aid. thanks Pete Weber
Wish one application would apply to all California community
colleges.
With your applicaton as well as even our US Census I continue
to have difficulty choosing RACE - as I am an American born
Mexican - whose foreparents were of Mexican/Native origin - not
entirely European/White. There is no "Other" option under which
to explain this. I.E. my maternal grandparents were
Taharumara Indian from Mexico but we have no continued
"affiliation" so I couldn't chose American Indian.
Worked well. I was a returning student so really appreciated that
all the boxes were already filled-in from my previous year
application

a very pleasant experience in applying for college.
Adult schools were not an option on the drop down list
for completion of high school
After getting a username that was available everything
went smoothly and I'm glad that the application was
simple.
Computer work/use is hard on the eyes.
COULD NOT! register as a new account because i have
attended Chabot previously ... could not access previous
account because I could not access my password / user
name ... led to an endless loop. Needed help from
admission office

for some reason...it took me hours to try and figure out
how to get passed the page that asks for previous HS
and college info. I answered according to the questions
but it kept prompting me to change them...??? other than
that I loved the process. Very quick.

I did not like the section about "Colleges Attended." I am
currently in college and looking to take the summer
session at Chabot for college credit so I was confused
about the "date attended to" section on this portion of the
application.

the opportunity to attend Chabot College to further my

I like the fact that I can save my progress and come
back later. Also I much prefer the online application to
the written version. The application seems faster online.
I personally have taken some classes at a college and
yet I did not have that option to chose when choosing
whether I was a returning student or new out of high
school. I will be fresh out of high school when I go to
college this year but I had to say I was a returning
student. I did not like that.

in my process of completing this app. I was asked for my
citizenship status. Being a U.S. citizen I marked U.S.
citizen I did not Mark anything for visa but when I
wanted to progress to the next page I was not aloud
because it said I could not mark U.S. citizen and a
specified visa. This confused me because like I said I
did not mark any thing for visa.
it is nice using this program so your information is saved
if you want to apply somewhere else as well

really speeded up the process.

Its was hard to find my last high school because I
couldn't find Leadership Public schools. It would only find
Leadership Public school San Jose. I had to type
Hayward to find my school.
Kind of confusing because I graduate after 6/1/2011 (on
6/18/11) so I have to select that I am attending high
school and college at the same time when I will actually
be done with high school a few days after summer
sessions at Chabot begin.

The question about California residency between 2009
and present should have asked how long applicant has
lived in California. It only asked the residency between
2009 and present. I am not sure if it will affect my
student financial aid application. It only asked when I
came back to California and it was last year. but I lived
here for about 6-7 years since year 2000.
The Survey was very easy and easy to apply.
There are some misspelled words.
This application process is fine and easy but the only
thing is that it doesnt really show you your information
such as email address before you sumit.

When I used the online application I found it a bit
difficult and confusing. I was confused between the
difference of (AA) and (TR). Also it gave me the wrong
email address. Instead of giving me my email on the
Application Confirmation it gave me my parent's email
address instead.
when i was claiming residency in U.S it asked for a visa?
but i shouldn't have to put any kinda of a visa if im from
the U.S ? so im not sure what that was about but
otherwise it was a plesant application process! :)
