All students must complete a background check for convictions of any crime (misdemeanor or felony) AND a 10 panel urine drug screen. Must notify nursing program director if you have any convictions Depending on the conviction, the hospital may deny a student’s access. If you have something in your past please get it expunged before applying. If a drug screen is POSITIVE for non-prescription drugs you will not be eligible for the program. PREREQUISITES Your are required to complete all pre-requisites prior to applying the nursing program. Completion date: Fall 2016 – RN(Generic) December 31, 2015 Fall 2015– LVN – July 31, 2015 You may only earn one “C” in the combined science pre-requisites. Science GPA required 2.5. TEAS: Test of Essential Academic Skills This is a normed, standardized predictive test which examines concepts in basic English reading and comprehension, scientific reasoning, math, and spelling and punctuation. Similar to an SAT test just different topics CA CHANCELLOR’S OFFICE has approved the test for Version V beginning 01/01/2011 TEAS V. Fall 2016 Qualifying Score: 62% Adjusted Individual Score Below Passing If you do not pass the test you must remediate.
