UC TAG (Transfer Admission Guarantee) CAREER & TRANSFER CENTER www.chabotcollege.edu/counseling/transfer Building 700, Second Floor, Room 761/758 (510) 726-6720 By preparing for and meeting specific requirements, community college transfer students have an opportunity to secure a seat at one of the six UC campuses (UC Davis, Irvine, Merced, Riverside, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz) through the Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) (found at: http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/transfer/guarantee). By participating in TAG, you will receive early review of your academic records, early admission notification and specific guidance about major preparation and general education coursework. Keep in Mind TAG applications are due Sept. 30 (one year before your intended transfer term), but course planning to meet requirements begins your first year at Chabot! And, you can only apply for a TAG at one UC campus. To keep your options open, apply to other UC campuses during the regular application cycle (Nov. 1-30). The TAG matrix (found at: http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/transfer/guarantee) provides a list of participating campuses and campus-specific requirements to qualify. Attend a TRANSFERRING TO UC & the TAG to learn more about the TAG and UC transfer. Use the UC Transfer Admission Planner (TAP) (found at: https://uctap.universityofcalifornia.edu/students) and complete each section. Be sure to enter EVERY course ever completed at any college you have attending, even nontransferable courses, F grades, repeated courses, courses that have been academically renewed, PE, etc.. Have unofficial transcripts from all colleges attended with you when you work on the TAP; do not work from memory. Frances Fon Transfer Counselor/Instructor ffon@chabotcollege.edu 9/2/15 2. Periodically review your TAP with your community college counselor or UC representative to discuss and monitor progress for transfer and TAG to the UC. 3. During the Spring semester before your last year at Chabot, decide on the UC to where you would like to TAG. Finish filling out your TAP with remaining in-progress and planned courses. Then, make a TAG review appointment with a counselor before submitting your TAG. Alternatively, you may review it with the university representative when they make visits to the Career & Transfer Center. If TAG appointments are full, stop by a UC TAG Clinic which are held in September. If neither work, do your best and submit your UC TAG on time between September 1-30th, a year before your intended transfer term. (Example: If I’m transferring in Fall 2016, I should be submitting my TAG between September 1-30, 2015.) FALL 2015 UC TAG CLINICS Fall 2016 TAG applications are due 9/30! Drop-In for assistance with your TAG application! Thurs. 9/17 5-7:30pm Room 761 (Career & Transfer Center Computer Lab) Mon. 9/28 1-3pm Room 761 (Career & Transfer Center Computer Lab) Remember to still apply to the UC 4. You’ll find out if your TAG is approved in November. If it is, fulfill all remaining coursework and GPA requirements in your TAG agreement.
