Prioritization update
o The prioritization committee has been meeting weekly to refine
the classified prioritization process for the 2016-2017 fiscal year.
The process has been broken up into two phases.
o During phase I all classified across campus with have the
opportunity to review position requests in their area and rank
those positions using thoughtful criteria relating to the strategic
plan goal. All requests will be broken down into three areas;
student services, academic services, and administrative services.
We hope that all classified will participate in ranking positions in
their areas as we need the most critical positions to rise to the
top of the prioritization.
o An email will be sent out in early January with directions and a
link to a Google form that will collect your ranking of positions.
You can also join us for group sessions on January 13, 19, and
29 where we can work together on the prioritization process.
o Phase two will begin in early February. The prioritization
committee will have the results of phase I and we will share this
information with senators from each area that they represent.
We hope that senators will reach out to departments/areas they
represent and collect important feedback on positions. We will
invite senators to meet with the prioritization committee for
more discussion in February. Tentative dates to meet with
senators are February 4th, 11th, and 18th.
o After phase I and II are complete we will submit a prioritized list
of positions to President Sperling and her team for review.

Addendum One
College Budget Committee Report
Submitted by Heather Hernandez
The College Budget Committee met for the last time this semester on
December 8. The committee will resume meeting in late January. As of this
meeting, program review budget spreadsheets were not compiled. Deonne
Kunkel attended the meeting to provide an update on the program review
timeline. Christine Herrera will be working over the break to compile the
budget requests from each area so that the committee can begin the
approval process. Deonne reported that she is not going to chair PRBC next
semester. The Budget Committee also received an update on the Planning
and Budget Committee (PBC). The PBC worked on an evaluation rubric that
they will use to evaluate their work and effectiveness. In addition, they
continue to discuss pots of money that have not be run through the budget
allocation model. There are three pots: 1.5 million, 4 million, and 2 million
dollars that are still under discussion. The PBC will meet next on February 5,
2016. A recommendation was made to President Sperling from the College
Budget Committee to add an additional classified representative to the
committee. She forwarded the request to the Academic Senate as they are
working on the shared governance documents.
