Spring 2016 Note 2: Arms Around Program Review and the Budget Process Dear Colleagues, We are working on quantifying requests from Program Review 2016 17. Embedded in Program Review are the resource spreadsheets submitted to PRBC in October 2015. Right at the moment, the submitted resource requests are being vetted for accuracy in each area on campus. These program review resource requests support aspects of college budgeting here at Chabot, and will be considered in light of the District budget planning process which you can view at this link: http://www.clpccd.org/business/documents/BudgetDevelopmentCalendar_201617‐A.pdf. Once we have our arms around the requests a revised summary spreadsheet will be formulated and posted on Chabot's Administrative Services and PRBC websites. I’d like to thank Christine Herrera and Chasity Whiteside for their efforts in this, and yours, as we know this requires is a great deal of focused and detailed energy. Importantly, the requests for full time faculty and classified personnel will be compared to those prioritized and recruited personnel for fulltime faculty and classified staff. At the same time, the summary program review will reflect our NEW needs across campus in other areas as well, so that we can begin with an accurate picture in 2016 17. Also, we will have the ability to conduct business over the closing and opening of the fiscal years (that is June 30 ‐ July 1) as we allocate estimated resources for our use on campus. Relative to Program Review 2015 2016 (last year), I am in the process of evaluating, in consultation with area administrators, what was funded and what wasn’t. For unfunded resource requests, it’s my hope that we will be able to make some positive funding in those. At the very least, I will let you know the status of requests from the 2015 16 program review cycle very soon. For Program Review 2017 18, (we will begin this in the fall of 2016) I plan to work with Chabot’s PRBC and the College Budget Committee to revise program review spreadsheets and templates, as well as incorporate guidance we receive from IEPI resources regarding Institutional Effectiveness.
