Online Orientation Counseling Division Home Counseling Division Assessment Center Room 714A, Building 700 (campus map) Phone: (510) 723-6722 E-mail: cc-assessment@chabotcollege.edu The Assessment Center offers the following services: English & Mathematics Assessment (Accuplacer) Download Accuplacer Online is a computer-adaptive English and Math assessment tool that is approved by the State Chancellor's Office. Students will be doing this assessment on a computer. The test is untimed, however most students will take approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours to complete both the English and Math portions of the test. Calculators are not needed for the test. Results from the assessment along with other information provided by the student will be used to determine appropriate English and Math course placement. English & Math Assessment Schedule http://www.chabotcollege.edu/Counseling/assessment/whatweoffer.asp[5/30/2015 1:05:53 PM] Chabot College English as a Second Language (CELSA) Assessment Download The ESL Assessment is available in place of the English Assessment for students whom English is a second language. At Chabot we use the Combined English Language Skills Assessment (CELSA), which is approved by the State Chancellor's Office. The CELSA is a paper and pencil test and is timed. Results from the assessment along with other information provided by the student will be used to determine appropriate ESL course placement. ESL Assessment Schedule Chemistry Diagnostic Test Download Students interested in taking Chemistry 1A: General College Chemistry have the option of taking the Chemistry Diagnostic Test to fulfill the chemistry prerequisite for this class. This is a timed, paper and pencil test. If you pass the test you will meet the chemistry prerequisite for Chemistry 1A. If you fail, you will need to complete Math 55 or 55B AND Chemistry 31 with a grade of "C" or higher in order to meet the prerequisite. Chemistry Test Schedule Ability to Benefit Test New Ability to Benefit regulations took effect July 1, 2012. If you enrolled into an eligible program prior to July 1, 2012, you may be eligible for Financial Aid by passing an Ability to Benefit (ATB) test or successfully completing at least six units of academic coursework. We provide the ATB test upon a written referral from the Chabot College Financial Aid office. This is a pass or fail test and is done by appointment only. Review the study guides for Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills and Basic Math (Arithmetic) Contact the Assessment Center to make an appointment. Do your Best! Your ATB test results will be used to determine your eligibility for financial aid and may also be used for English and math course placement. Vocational/Career Testing The Strong and Myers-Briggs tests are available on a referral basis only. If you are already working with a counselor, you could ask your counselor for a referral.
