Current role is “Institutional Program Review and Outcomes Coordinator.” I
coordinate all program review activities, student learning outcomes assessment, and
administrative unit outcomes assessment for the district.
I have been full-time ENGL faculty since 2004. During this time I’ve taught Education
courses and worked as a CTE program director for a teacher education preparation
program; served three years as department chair; served two years as curriculum
chair; and served two years as the presiding chair of our council of department
chairs. I served two years as Academic Senate President during which time I chaired
the Academic Technology Committee and co-chaired the district Shared
Consultation Council (our shared governance body), Budget Committee, Technology
Committee, Facilities Committee, Human Resources Committee, and Strategic
Planning Committee. I currently co-chair the Institutional Program Review
Committee and the Student Outcomes and Achievement Review Committee, which
reviews SLO data, Student Success Scorecard Data, and Institution Set Standards
data. I have been active in the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges
and was recently elected to statewide executive office. I served on the Accreditation
and Assessment Committee in 2014-2015 and will be the committee chair for this
academic year.
I have not served on an External Evaluation Team. I have been a member of our
Accreditation Oversight Committee (AOC) since 2010. I chaired a committee in
2010-2011 to address recommendations for Standard IIIA (Professional
Development) and have served on two writing teams. As a member of the AOC, and
a member of the AOC Writing Team, I’ve written parts of every Standard and was
the lead on gathering and preparing evidence for our most recent self-evaluation
report.
