MUSIC PRACTICUM II
Catalog Description:
24B – Music Practicum II
May be repeated 3 times
3 units
Advanced study of voice or instrument. Designed for music major or minor to increase opportunities
in individualized study of voice or instrument. Prerequisite: MUSA 24A (completed with a grade of
"C" or higher). Corequisite: MUSP 12A or 12B or 14A or 14B or 15A or 15B or 44A or 44B or 45A or
45B. 10 hours laboratory.

Prerequisite Skills:
Before entering the course, students should be able to:
1. define musical symbols and terminology;
2. achieve improved technique on their own instrument, enabling them to play increasingly more
advanced literature;
3. demonstrate advanced techniques resulting in improved tone quality and interpretation;
4. perform several scales in a proficient manner;

5. perform advanced music of various periods and by various composers in an authentic and
characteristic style;
6. develop an understanding and appreciation of the literature performed;
7. develop a repertoire and perform in a jury or recital.
Expected Outcomes for Students:
