Remarks on SSSP 2014-15 Plan
i. VP Kritscher express that more funds were spent on adjunct counselors than
planned. He proposes that hired part-time permanent classified positions funded
by SSSP become full-time positions by sending a recommendation to the ViceChancellor. This would go on the 2015-16 budget. He then goes over SSSP budget
such as personnel (adjunct counselors, classified, student assistants). As of today,
there is a balance of $325,771.90. He recommends that there should increasing
staffing such as $600K for adjunct counselors and $90-100K for student assistants.
ii. VP Kritscher went over feedback on Chancellor’s Office review on Chabot’s SSSP
plan for 2014-15. The following was discussed:
 Write down existing position and new position.
 Need cost for ACCUPLACER.
 Needs improvement with high school district – plan list partnership and
needs more details. Direct cost of technology not included on budget.
Need more explanation.
 Internal deadline for review for signatories no later than October 15th . He
recommends presenting a draft of the SSSP for 2015-16 to College
Council, Academic Senate, and Classified Senate. He would like the draft
of the 2015-16 SSSP Plan by the end of September and present to College
Council for review. Keep in mind meeting dates for each group.
 Paulette would like a copy of 2014-15 SSSP Budget.
 Follow-up services such as early alert, progress report was discussed.
o Rachel suggests we can go over progress report and statistics process
in the next SSSP meeting,
o Emmanuel will be holding a pilot probation workshop during
registration time. Currently, students who are under probation are
completing a self-report with Counseling Division. Paulette should
be included in the conversation of releasing probation holds. He is
hoping to run a pilot of 40 contracts. Rachel prefers A&R reviews
holds beforehand. Probation process is not clearly identified through
the years. Usually probation letters sent out month before registration
start. Stacey suggest that workshops are held when holds are placed.
DSPS would like to receive a list of probation students.
