Delving into the ISPE Project Management Good Practice Guide: Key Concepts on
People Power, Risk and Planning for Success!
Dr Trish Melton (MIME Solutions & PM Guide Lead) and Alf Penfold, (co-author ISPE
PM guide book, Director Pfizer Global Engineering).
This session provides an overview of four of the chapters of the new ISPE Project
Management Guide with workshops to allow active learning in key concepts which are
valid across the project life cycle, for example:
The Stage Gate Process
The Role of the Project Manager, Team & Sponsor
Integrated Risk Management
Project Culture
Project Delivery Planning
The workshop will focus on the soft and hard side of project success and emphasise the
technical diverse nature of pharmaceutical project teams and in doing so reinforce the
key concepts within the Guide.
The ISPE PM guide book will be offered for sale at a reduced cost @ the seminar.

Using visual planning for improved project performance
Dr Håkan Swan (Ivolver AB & Chalmers Professional Education)
This session will show how the project lead-time can be reduced and quality improved,
by a method supporting a human approach. The method originates from Toyota and has
been used successfully in many western companies during the last decade. Practical
examples will be given during the presentation.

Jon Kjær Nielsen, (Recognized Consultant, Author and Lecturer on developing

This session will focus on the key simple skills focused on the soft parts that make project
managers and groups successful. All will be mixed up with real stories and group
activities.The objective is to give each individual inspiration and tools to bring home to
your daily activities that will help you and your colleagues to develop a succesful
workplace culture.
