Dr. Hansen’s research focuses on the causes and consequences of global climate change using the Earth’s paleoclimate history, ongoing global observations, and interpretive tools including climate models. His Congressional testimony in the late 1980s helped raise broad awareness of climate change as a crucial issue for humanity. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and has been named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine and one of the Top 100 Global Thinkers by Foreign Policy.
