The 2016 PHS Philadelphia Flower Show, will celebrate the centennial of the National Park Service and our country's majestic natural landscapes,
rich history, and vibrant culture.
PHS welcomes you to the Flower Show, an amazing world of great gardening and design that dates back to 1829. This event is special for so many
reasons and number one on the list is that it takes place at a time of year when we crave color and beauty from our gardens. The Flower Show
offers this and so much more.
The 2016 Flower Show theme "Explore America" will take visitors through acres of displays inspired by iconic parks like Acadia and Cape Cod,
Valley Forge and Shenandoah, Yellowstone, Yosemite and many other parks and historic sites and created by the nation's premier floral and
garden designers.
The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and the National Park Service are natural partners, sharing a common mission to protect and care for
natural resources and preserve green spaces. Through "Explore America," PHS and the Park Service are engaging those who know and love the
parks, and inviting a new generation to discover the special places that belong to us all.
Guests can choose their own trail through the beautiful displays and learn about the natural, historical and cultural beauty of our parks. They will
marvel at the Flower Show's new Railway Garden, a vast display of large-scale model locomotives and railcars rumbling through a miniaturized
National Parks landscape. Guests can take The Butterfly Experience, a rare opportunity to interact with domestic and exotic varieties and create a
Flower Show keepsake or terrarium in the Make & Take Studio.
"Base Camp" in the Grand Hall (adjacent to the Exhibition Hall), features an indoor playground of attractions, shopping and dining - including
climbing walls, live music, and wine tastings. A popular Pop Up Beer Garden with lots of seating will invite guests to refresh between explorations
of the Flower Show.
The Flower Show offers innovative ideas for outdoor spaces inspired by diverse American regions, home decorating concepts borrowed from
historic settings, and other creative tips guests can bring to their own home and garden.
