Merit Wealth Advisors is an Independent Financial Planning firm located in Dallas, TX
with our office located off Merit drive by medical city (75 & Forest). We have two primary
partners and staff plus our strategic partners that we office with who consist of an estate
planning attorney, several CPA’s as well as a bookkeeping group. We are a family
planning firm that caters to the high net worth and small business owners.
This summer we will be having interns for the first time and we’re looking for 1-2
Students looking to get a taste of the industry. This role would probably be more geared
to someone who wants to be a Financial Planner one day and not a paraplanner. This
will be a part time internship as it will also be unpaid. Ball park around 20 hours a week,
Monday - Thursday ideally but we are flexible. You will assist in setting up our
workshops with wholesalers, sit in live meetings with clients when it's appropriate and
help the day to day operations of the firm during the summer months. We will have
three set meetings a week. One at the beginning and end of the week to review and
answer any questions you may have. You will also sit in on the weekly meeting of the
partners.
I myself am less than 10 years removed from being a student at Texas Tech myself so I
can relate to the feeling of the unknown of what it's going to be like when you graduate.
I promise you will get real world experience in the industry and see the good, bad and
ugly of this industry so you can hit the ground running when you yourself enter this
