Oregon State System of Higher Education Federal Cooperative Extension Service Oregon State College Corvallis Club Series L-62 Reprinted November 1950 HOW TO KEEP 4-H CLUB RECORDS As a 4-H club member you keep a businesslike record covering the work done. To be of real value, the record must be complete and accurate. 1. Keep a record of all the clothing you make or buy, not merely what is required for the completion of the project. Add a page if needed. 2. Put the total of all three columns at the top of the extra page. Final totals go on page 11. 3. Your record is not complete without a story of your 4-H club work. 4. Your record book is a required part of your 4-H club exhibit. Turn it in to your 4-H club leader who will see that it reaches the extension agent for checking, in order that you may receive credit for completing your project. 5. Your record book will be returned to you. Keep it as long as you are a 4-H member. All of your record books are needed if you are being considered for any special honors. THE 4-H CLUB CREED I believe in Boys' and Girls' 4-H Club work for the opportunity it gives me to become a useful citizen. I believe in the training of my HEAD for the power it will give me to THINK, PLAN, and REASON. I believe in the training of my HEART for the nobility it will give me to be KIND, SYMPATHETIC, and TRUE. I believe in the training of my HANDS for the ability it will give me to be HELPFUL, SKILLFUL, and USEFUL. I believe in the training of my HEALTH for the strength it will give me to ENJOY LIFE, RESIST DISEASE, and MAKE FOR EFFICIENCY. I believe in the United States of America, in the State of Oregon, and in my responsibility for their development. I am therefore willing to devote my efforts to the fulfillment of these things which I believe. JdN 1 5! INVENTORYContinued After you have made an inventory and know what clothing you have, you can then plan how best to spend the money you have available for clothing this year. You may use the rest of this page to list what you plan to buy. It may be that you won't have as much to spend as you expect, but a good plan will be a real help in using what you do have wisely. ARTICLES AND GARMENTS TO BE ADDED TO WARDROBE THIS YEAR DEMONSTRATIONS THE STORY OF MY WORK Many interesting things happen in connection with your club work that cannot be put into the columns in a record book. Your story is the place to tell about some of the interesting things you have done in your club meetings and special events such as parties, picnics, what you have done for someone outside your club, how you stretched your clothing dollar, how you have helped your mother and your leader, and what you feel you've gained from this year's club work.
