of hands-on teaching and training demonstrations for the graduate and
undergraduate students, including hydrothermal zeolite synthesis and materials
characterization using time-of-flight aerodynamic particle size analysis,
atomic absorption, UV-Vis, FTIR, and EDX spectroscopy, X-ray powder
diffraction, FE-SEM, and AFM.

Developer and verifier of the recipes and detailed procedures for the hydrothermal synthesis
of zeolites F, K-F, L, T, and Chabazite. These recipes are included in two editions of the
zeolite “cookbook” Verified Syntheses of Zeolitic Materials (first edition published as a
special issue of the journal Microporous and Mesoporous Materials, vol. 22 (1998), second
revised edition published by Elsevier in 2001 on behalf of the Synthesis Commission of the
International Zeolite Association). The “cookbook” is intended for use by researchers with
limited experience in zeolite synthesis.

