Sacajawea Elementary School Arrival at School Teach-To’s Goals: 1. To arrive in safe and calm fashion. 2. To start the day on a positive note. Rationale: 1. To increase prosocial interactions and learning time. 2. To decrease frustration and fear. Expected Arrival at School Behavior: 1. All students will arrive no earlier than 8:30 a.m. (school begins at 8:40), unless students are participating in the school breakfast program, which begins at 8:15 a.m., or participating in a before school program (i.e. choir, crossing guard, extra school work assistance, etc.). If a student arrives at school before 8:15 a.m. the student must walk through the office waiting area and down the ramp to the gym. Once in the gym they are to sit quietly against the designated wall and wait to be dismissed at 8:30 a.m. to go out to the playground. 2. Students participating in the breakfast program will enter at the double doors (SE hallway entrance) by the kitchen. If a student arrives for breakfast before 8:15 the student will enter through the breakfast double doors and sit quietly against the designated wall and wait for breakfast to be served at 8:15 a.m. 3. Students will walk directly to the “line-up” area for their class to drop off their backpacks and return to the playground until the bell rings at 8:40 a.m. If students do not want to drop off backpacks they must go directly to the playground. 4. When the 8:40 a.m. bell rings students will immediately walk across asphalt to the “line-up” area and wait quietly until their teacher greets them. 5. Obey crossing guards and use only the designated crosswalks. 6. Walk bicycle on school grounds. Park and lock bicycle at bicycle rack. 7. Scooters and skateboards are not permitted to be brought to school. Positive Walk on the paved areas. Walk bicycles on school grounds. Walk directly to the “line-up” area.
