1. 根据学生的年龄分组来评分。低年级学生，扣分可松些。中、高年级学生，扣分应当严些。
2. 每四个错别字扣一分（每个扣 0.25 分，同一错别字重复出现只按一次扣分）。
3. 语句不通顺，语法错误扣一分（相同语法错误重复出现只按一次扣分）。
4. 使用拼音代替汉字，或用英文代替人名地名不扣分。
5. 字数要求: 100-500 字
满分为 100 分。

1. Divide students into different groups based on their ages. Lower level students have lower
requirements than higher level students. The rubric is re-flexible for lower level students.
2. 0.25 points are deducted for every character written incorrectly, or 1 point for every 4 incorrectly
written characters. If the same character is written incorrectly, only 0.25 points total will be
deducted from the final score—penalize the student only once per error type.
3. 1 point will be deducted for every grammatically incorrect or incoherent sentence. If one
grammar mistake is present more than once, only 1 point will be deducted total—penalize the
student only once per error type.

4. No points will be deducted for use of Pinyin to replace Chinese characters, or use of English for a
person’s or place’s name.
5. Minimum character count per essay: 100-500 characters.
