Dates and Guidelines Important Dates: • Accepting Applications: May 2 - July 17, 2016 • Submission Deadline: July 17, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. • Review Period: July 18, 2016 – August 15, 2016 • Notification Deadline: August 24, 2016 • Funding Date: September 15, 2016 o Funding may be used for researcher compensation until June 3, 2017 o The project may continue without funding if not completed by June 3, 2017 • Project Reporting Requirements: o Expense Documentation due: October 19, 2016 (ePAF, purchase orders, or receipts must be sent to CALUE) o Graduation Stipulation: Can not graduate before May 2017 (ensures URC 2017 participation) o Abstract Submission Due: January 2017 o 2017 URC Presentation: March 28-29, 2017 Submission Guidelines: • The application must ultimately be written and submitted by the undergraduate student whom the application references. However, the faculty mentor should be involved in the process to provide overall guidance, financial information, an indication of their endorsement of the application, and a letter of support. • No more than one project from the same lab will be funded during each funding period. Among projects approved by the review committee, only the top project from a single lab will be funded. • Please include a letter of support from the faculty mentor on the project as part of the application packet. • All application materials must be submitted in an electronic format (including the faculty letter of support). Attach all of the files to one email and send them to CALUE at calue@ttu.edu. • DO NOT include supplemental documents when submitting the project funding application. They will not be reveiwed as part of the selection process. Funding Uses and Limitations: • Funding will be awarded on a competitive basis. The review rubric is available for your reference at www.calue.ttu.edu/undergraduate_scholar_project_funding.php • Requests must be for either student pay or project supplies, not both. • Funding is capped at $1000.00. • Funding may be used to pay an undergraduate student to perform work that is meaningful to a TTU faculty or graduate student project; to work on a project that is separate, but closely related to a TTU faculty or graduate student project; or to purchase supplies for an undergraduate student project. • Funding will be awarded as a budget revision to a departmental FOP tied to the project of the faculty mentor for distribution to the undergraduate student. • The FOP to which the funding will be transferred must begin with 16A.
