Dr. Sarah Kulkofsky Scholarship 2016-2017 Purpose: The Dr. Sarah Kulkofsky Scholarship will provide scholarship support to at least one undergraduate researcher at Texas Tech University. An undergraduate researcher is defined as a current Texas Tech University undergraduate student engaged in a research project under the guidance of a faculty mentor. The 2016-2017 scholarship award(s) is $500 per student, with $250 dispersed in the fall semester and $250 dispersed in the spring semester. Applications will be reviewed by the Center for Active Learning and Undergraduate Engagement (CALUE) Advisory Committee. The recipient will be recognized during the Center’s annual spring banquet on March 31, 2016. Criteria: • Current Texas Tech undergraduate student engaged in a research project under the guidance of a faculty mentor • Full-­‐time student, as defined by Texas Tech University (TTU) • In good academic standing with TTU • Eligible to receive scholarship funding Application process: Applicants must submit all completed scholarship documents to the Center for Active Learning and Undergraduate Engagement by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2016. During her time at TTU she excelled in her position and received many accolades. “Dr. K” as students often referred to her, truly loved research, her students and instilled her thirst for knowledge in them. Dr. Kulkofsky passed away at the age of 30, on January 13, 2011. Texas Tech University students, faculty, and staff established the Dr. Sarah Kulkofsky Scholarship in her honor.
