Jerrad Legako of Lubbock will be presented the $2,000 scholarship at the society’s annual meeting on May 17 in Newark, New Jersey, announced CASNR officials today. more » Tech women’s rodeo team buckles down to take regional championship Led by women’s all-around cowgirl champ Bailey Guthrie, Texas Tech women’s rodeo team was crowned the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association’s southwest regional team champion on Saturday at the Tarleton State University Rodeo in Stephenville. Some 15 colleges and universities across West Texas and Eastern New Mexico competed at the event. more » Texas viticulture certificate program application window opens in June Next fall the state’s thriving grape and wine industry will have a new group of trained professionals in the pipeline thanks to an innovative program known as the Texas Viticulture Certificate Program. But Spring Flower Show Blooms There was a breath of spring in CASNR’s light-filled animal science atrium last month as a striking mix of flowers lifted the spirits of judges and visitors from across campus. More than 25 flower arrangements were featured as part of the final grades for students in a Plant and Soil Science’s floral design class, led by instructor Amber Bates.
