David R. Cameron is a Professor of Political Science at Yale and the Director of the Yale Program in European Union Studies. He received his B.A. from Williams College, M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College, M.Sc. from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. He has taught at Yale since 1975. He has served, at various times, as chair, director of graduate studies, and director of undergraduate studies of the department. He teaches courses on European politics and the European Union. He has written extensively about the impact of trade openness on government and, with respect to the EU, about the initiative to complete the internal market, the operation of the European Monetary System, the negotiation and implementation of Economic and Monetary Union, the enlargement of the EU, and the negotiation of the failed constitutional treaty and its successor, the Treaty of Lisbon. He has published many articles and chapters on these topics.
