Invited participants represent First Nations, government, industry, investors, environmental and conservation foundations and academia. The objective of the workshop is to share perspectives and explore the viability of land‐based, closed‐containment salmon aquaculture. The goals are to: • examine the current status of land‐based closed‐containment salmon aquaculture, • identify potential barriers to creating this new growth industry in BC, and • develop an action plan to aid in moving this industry forward. The format of the workshop includes a combination of presentations, respondent panels, break‐out group discussions and facilitated dialogue. A report, summarizing the proceedings will be available electronically on the website noted below.
