Those p a r e n t s who want t h e i r definite reason recognised i s not w i l l i n g to pay t o w a r d s t h e e r e c t i o n of s c h o o l b u i l d i n g s , any d e f i n i t e the children to i n s t x u e t i o n must b u i l d and p a y receive for, buildings. This h a s always been a h e a v y b u r d e n upon C a t h o l i c s , who, f o r t h e most part, b e l o n g t o t h e p o o r e s t s e c t i o n of t h e c o m m u n i t y . however, Catholic Now, t h a t t h e p r i o o of b u i l d i n g h a s i n c r e a s e d s o enormously, i t h a s become a b u r d e n t o o g r e a t f o r u s t o bear. We s i m p l y c a n n o t c o n t i n u e t o b u i l d o u r s c h o o l s p a y t h e w h o l e of t h e c o s t of t h e m . It i s t o our Govern­ ment t h a t we l o o k e i t h e r t o b u i l d o u r s c h o o l s , rate, and or, at any t o s h a r e w i t h u s t h e burden of b u i l d i n g them. The l e a s t t h a t t h o Government pay us a s u b s t a n t i a l buildings as'part means of t h i s can do f o r u s I s r e n t f o r t h e u s e of o u r of t h e i r s c h o o l m a c h i n e r y , r e n t we c a n pay t h o i n t e r e s t school so t h a t by capital Incurred. I t may b e of i n t e r e s t t o you t o know t h a t e r e c t i o n of t h i s s c h o o l , t o g e t h e r with t h e s i t e , the will c o s t no l e s s t h a n £ 1 9 , 0 0 0 , w h i c h i s e q u i v a l e n t i n t h e of C a r d i f f to a threepenny r a t e . ' It i s t r u e t h a t we a r e i n a m i n o r i t y i n country, but i t really united, this i s w o n d e r f u l w h a t we can do i f we a r e and i f we a o t as one man. Our v o t i n g power i s much g r e a t e r now t h a n i t o v e r boe.h, a n d I f e e l c e r t a i n t h a t our Catholic children, i f we a r e f a i t h f u l and i f we a r e f a i t h f u l to has to our C a t h o l i o s c h o o l s , we can o b t a i n j u s t i c e and f a i r p l a y a s r e g a r d s t h e e d u c a t i o n of o u r C a t h o l i c children.
