VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT:
CLASSIFICATION TITLE: INCOME MAINTENANCE CASEWORKER II
JOB LOCATION: FAMILY & CHILDREN’S MEDICAID
Job Description:
Work involves determining eligibility of clients to receive assistance through the department of social services and managing cases determined to be eligible. Duties include intake, processing and review functions. Work at this level includes such tasks as interviewing clients to obtain required information, completing initial applications, verifying information obtained, determining eligibility and completing scheduled program reviews. Employees must explain program requirements and options and advise or refer clients to other program services as appropriate. Employee reports to an Income
Maintenance Supervisor.
Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:
One year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker I
Will accept applications for Income Maintenance Caseworker I with the following qualifications: Graduation from a four-year college or university; or completion of three years of college with a minimum of 90 semester or 135 quarter hours of credit. A transcript is required; or graduation from an accredited associate degree program in human services technology, social services associate, paralegal technology, business administration, secretarial science, or a closely related curriculum; or graduation from high school with three years of paraprofessional, clerical or other public contact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling data, analysis of data and/or the performance of mathematical or legal tasks; or graduation from high school and two years of paraprofessional, clerical or other public contact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling data , analysis of data and/or the performance of mathematical or legal tasks with at least one year of such experience being in an income maintenance program.
COMPUTER PROFICIENCY IS REQUIRED .
BI-LINGUAL ABILITY (ENGLISH-SPANISH) IS DESIRABLE.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREENING IS REQUIRED.
