COURSE PREREQUISITE Satisfactory performance on placement exam,
2 years of high school algebra; 1 year of high school geometry.
PLAGIARISM/CHEATING POLICY If plagiarism or cheating occurs, you will be assigned a zero for that test or assignment, and you risk being withdrawn from the course. During a Quiz or Exam, you may not use your textbook, notes, calculator or formula sheets unless otherwise specified.

ABSENTEEISM POLICY I will not take attendance in this class. However, low attendance rates correlate very strongly with low grades, so attendance is highly encouraged. If you miss a class, you are entirely responsible for obtaining notes and for finding out about any announcements that were made.
GRADING : Your grade for the course will be calculated as follows.
• Homework: 30%
• Quizzes: 20%
• Midterm exam: 25%
• Final Exam: 25%

HOMEWORK : All homework in this course is done via MyLabsPlus. Late assignments will not be accepted; however, your lowest two scores will be dropped.
QUIZZES : Quizzes will be given approximately weekly. Each quiz will consist of two problems from the previous homework assignments. There will be no make ups on quizzes, but your lowest two scores will be dropped.
EXAMS : The midterm exam date will be announced later. The final exam date is as scheduled by the registrar’s office. ALL EXAM TIMES ARE SUB-
JECT TO CHANGE.
MAKE-UP POLICY : There will be NO make up quizzes and exams unless the absence is excused. If you are sick enough to miss class, you are sick enough to go the doctor. Therefore, a note will be required. If an unavoidable circumstance arises, please notify me BEFORE the exam for approval.
I may require some form of documentation of the excuse.
