Óbuda University Sándor Rejtő Faculty of Light Industry and Environmental Engineering CURRICULUM OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCT AND ART DESIGNER BSC COURSE 1. Training goal: The goal of the course is to train industrial products and art designers who are capable of designing, producing and marketing industrial products: they are capable of meeting the challenges of market economy with flexibility and efficiency; with their technical, aesthetic, human as well as economic knowledge and skills they are capable of independent, creative work in all the phases of product development and capable of managing the innovative process of product development as well as the material, organizational and human resources necessary for product development and also the different cycles of product life cycle; in addition they have enough theoretical knowledge to be able to continue their studies in the second cycle of the training 2. Training duration: full time, 7 semesters, 2156 hours 3. Credits to be obtained: 210 credits 4. Qualification level and the description of qualification in the certificate: - level: baccalaureus, bachelor; short: BSc - name of qualification: Industrial Design Engineer 5. Main areas of the training: Natural science fundamentals (40-50 credits) Economics and humanities (16-30 credits) Professional core material (70-103 credits) Specific professional knowledge Optional subject (10 credits) Thesis (15 credits) Total: Credit points 40 24 78 43 10 15 210 6. Professional practice: Doing profession practice outside the institution is a criterion. The duration of the professional practice is 6 weeks. Physical Education: It is a criterion subject in the full-time course, which is advertised in the 2nd and 3rd semesters in weekly 2 hours. 8. Language requirements, language training: In order to obtain the degree it is compulsory to have at least one intermediate level type “C” accredited language exam or equivalent certificate of secondary education or diploma. As a compulsory subject all full-time students must participate in the professional course advertised by the university in English or German and pass the required test in the foreign language 9. Form of the training: - full time 10. Precondition of admission: Passing the aptitude test in drawing 11. Knowledge testing: - midyear mark, exam, final exam 12. Conditions of admission for the final exam: a) obtaining the pre-degree certificate; b) degree thesis accepted by the reviewer. The condition of being admitted for the final exam is obtaining the pre-degree certificate. The pre-degree certificate is issued to a student who has met the course and examination requirements specified in the curriculum and the required professional practice – with the exception of passing the language exam and preparing the thesis – and obtained the required credits. 13. The parts of the final exam: The final exam consists of defending the thesis and taking exams in the subjects specified in the curriculum. The student must take the final exam on the same day, continuously. The final exam consists of oral exams and the preparation time is at least 30 minutes per subject. At one time one student may take the exam before the examination board. 14. The result of the final exam: the weighted average of the marks received for the thesis and the oral part of the final exam – taking into account the number of exam subjects as follows: Óbuda University Sándor Rejtő Faculty of Light Industry and Environmental Engineering F =( TH + E1+E2+…+Em)/(1+m). 15.
