Fall Semester: Monday, August 20, 2012 through Friday, December 14, 2012 Spring Semester: Monday, January 14, 2013 through Friday, May, 10, 2013 Benefits: Graduate Stipend: $8892/$4446 per semester (2011-12 academic year). Note: This amount is subject to increase for the 2012-13 academic year. Graduate Assistants do qualify for in-state tuition and fees. Graduate Assistants receive university holidays. Vacation and sick leave are determined by the supervisor. Professional development opportunities are supported, but the degree of support is determined by availability of funds. Divided into three zones, Business & Industry, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Education, Career Services assists student with career decision making, cooperative education and internships, career searches, mock interviews, career fairs, on-campus interviews, and assists with the development of resumes, cover letters, and other materials necessary for conducting career searches. Ultimately, our mission mirrors the Student Affairs Division mission, “We help students succeed.” Position Description: The Graduate Assistant will: Coordinate the Peer Career Advisor Program; Perform resume critiques, cover letter critiques, and mock interviews; Learn and train others on the use of the CareerCat (on-line job board); Assist in the development and implementation of programs and outreach activities that support the “mobile career services” initiatives and branch office operations; Interact and engage employers in training and recruitment through fairs and employer relations programs; Assist with graduate follow-up data collection, interpretation, and dissemination; and Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Candidate must be a full-time, degree-seeking student in a graduate program (postsecondary education/student affairs, counseling, or related field preferred); Excellent written and oral communication skills; Strong interpersonal and organization skills; Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and to conduct oneself in a highly professional and ethical manner. Proficiency with Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word is desirable along with knowledge of web page development.
