Nursing Honors Course Descriptions NU 499H Scholarly Writing and Honors Thesis Design 2 cr This course serves as a foundation for scholarship in nursing. With the guidance of assigned faculty, Honors Students will design and write a scholarly plan for an undergraduate nursing research, service-learning, or study abroad experience. Students will develop the prospectus to include background, plan, and outcome/evaluative measures, agency support, and measures to assure protection of human participants as applicable. Students must be admitted to the Nursing Honors Program. NU 499H Implementing the Honors Thesis 2 cr The purpose of the course is to provide students the opportunity to implement a scholarly undergraduate research, service-learning, or study abroad experience, based on the plan developed in previous course. Honors Students will produce a preliminary written report to include outcome and evaluative data and discussion of findings. Honors Students must have completed NU 499H (Scholarly Writing and Honors Thesis Design). NU 499H Disseminating Findings of Honors Thesis 2 cr Application of scholarly work developed in previous course sequence will be done through written thesis development and dissemination of findings. Students will give a formal presentation/defense and submit written thesis to University Honors Director for approval. Students will present outcome findings at professional forums and submit query with abstract or manuscripts to an appropriate journal. Honors Students must have completed NU 499H (Implementing the Honors Thesis).
