On that Sunday, members of the Faith Formation staff and participants in some of our programs will be present to answer any questions you might have before or after the 10am Family Mass. Our pre-school program begins at age 3, and we offer a variety of options for kids and adolescents through Confirmation prep in the first two years of high school. Registration will continue throughout the summer. Beginning June 2, forms will be available online from our website, by emailing Susan Stuart at langinst@bc.edu, or by contacting the Office at 617.552.6105. Additional information can be accessed through the website or by contacting the Faith Formation office. We are grateful for everyone who registers early, as it helps us to best plan for the year ahead! 1. THIS W EEK’S CALENDAR Sunday, June 2nd Book Discussion – Office 2nd floor 11:15 am Contemporary Music Ensemble – UC 4:30 pm GOOD CAUSES Below are two appeals I have received, one from a parishioner who is a student at the STM school of Theology and Ministry. The other is from a young man involved with the Deaf Apostolate who is trying to raise funds for the trip to World Youth Day that will take place in Rio this summer. If either of these are of interest to you, feel free to follow up with them. Fr. Bob The Esperanza Project provides financial support for young people in order to attend an institute of higher education through fundraising and partnership with The Starfish Foundation, Inc. The initial project will fund the tuition of one student, Valeria Calderon Solorzano, for one year. Donations can be accepted online or by check, and 100% of donations contribute to Valeria's college tuition. To donate or find more information, please visit www.esperanzahopeproject.weebly.com. All donations are tax deductible. Thank you! My name is Kenneth Osborne, one of 23 Pilgrims going with the Deaf Apostolate to WYD in Rio. The purpose of this pilgrimage is to enrich and share our Catholic faith with over 2 million youth, including the deaf from around the world. OUTREACH MINISTRIES FOOD DRIVE: pantries Summer months result in empty shelves at our local food and hunger does not take a vacation! So, let’s help ease that situation. On the weekend of June 15th/16th, we’ll conduct a not-expired, non-perishable foods drive to help re-stock the shelves at the Newton Food Pantry in Waban. Please drop your bag(s) of donations in front of the Outreach table in the upper church Gathering Space. The list of needed items is posted at church entrances and is on the parish website. COR UNUM MEAL CENTER SERVICE: We plan to serve dinner at Cor Unum Meal Center in Lawrence on three Saturday nights in the summer. Those dates are: June 22nd, July 20th, and August 17th. Children may serve with their parents, but they must be at least ten years of age to do so. Contact Sr. Diane at 617-5526107 if you’d like more information. SHATTUCK SUMMER COOKOUT: Our annual cookout for the Guests at Pine Street Inn Shattuck Shelter will be on Saturday, July 20th. Sign-ups will begin on June 29th/30th; look for the sign-up materials on the Outreach table. ST. IGNATIUS MUSIC MINISTRY Our 5:30pm Contemporary Ensemble will continue throughout the summer. Our ensemble members contribute time and talent to enrich our liturgies week after week, for which we are most grateful. Anyone interested in more information about our ensembles can go to our webpage or contact Michael Burgo at burgo@bc.edu. 3. Aleluya. 4.
