Grant Awarded to Dr. Ishara Ramkissoon Dr. Ishara Ramkissoon, Associate Professor of Audiology, has been notified of a successful grant renewal for the Environmental Literacy In Marine Science And The Health Impact Of Pollution project. The award of $113, 879 in 2016 will support the Emerging Scholars Environmental Health Sciences Academy (ESEHSA) for five high schools in Mobile and Baldwin counties. In addition to providing hourly Dr. Ramkissoon student employment, this year the grant will fund an additional graduate assistantship (tuition + stipend) for an audiology doctoral student; Ms. Kathryn Buchanan is the 2016 recipient of the graduate assistantship. The ESEHSA program is funded by a grant subcontract from Tulane University School of Public Health, through the Gulf Region Health Outreach program, and under Dr. Ramkissoon’s direction, the total cumulative funding is $313, Kathryn Buchanan 723.
