I. Name

1fhe name of this organization shall be the M.A.L.E.S. Club, following the program, Men
1}chieving and Leading in Excellence and Success (M.A.L.E.S.), and will hereafter be
referred to as the M.A.L.RK Club.

e purpose of this club will be to encourage students from underrepresented groups to
s cceed at Queensborough Community College and to spread knowledge about how
eople from different backgrounds come to the college. The M.A.L.E.S. Club will
domplement the activities of the M.A.L.E.S. Program by encouraging students to take

of advising, mentoring, and other opportunities. It will also help to bU.ilda
s nse of community and social connections for students of all backgrounds. The
tivities of the club might include, but will not be limited to, sponsoring lectures,
community-building social events, and other relevant activities.

4.rticle ID. Membership
Section L Membership shall be open to all students enrolled at Queensborough
dommunity College regardless of race, color, religious beliefs or non-beliefs, national
~[igin, sex, political, beliefs, veteran, handicapped status or sexual orientation. Students
. ~d mentors in the M.A.L.E.S. Program will be especially encouraged to join the
~.A.L.E.S. Club. The M.AL.E.S. club will also encourage the participation and
cpntributions of interested faculty, staff and alumni affiliated with Queensborough
Communlty College.
Section II. Members are expected to attend the M.A.L.E.S. Club general meetings,
functions, and events.
~ection III. The M.A.L.E.S Club Executive Board has the right to revoke membership
'then deemed necessary, as all members must follow the conduct and responsibilities of
the club.
~rticle IV.
Section L Officers
Jthe Officers of the M.A.L.E.S Club shall consist of the President, Vice President.
Senator and Secretary.
~ection IT.Duties
A. President
l . Coordinates and oversee the structure of the club.
2. Calls for executive board meetings.
3. Presides over general and executives board meetings.
4. Monitors the budget and the allocation of funds.
B. Vice President
1. Assists in coordinating the structure of the club.
2. Assumes the duties of the President in the event of an absence.
3. Assumes the office of the President should the office becomes vacant.
4. Accepts additional responsibilities handed down by the President.
C. Senator
1. Monitors the work of the Executive Board.
2. Attends all Academic Senate Committee meetings.
3. Reports to the other officers and members about activities within the
Senate.
Article V. Meetings
1. The Executive Board shall meet at least once a week.
2. General meetings shall be held in accordance with the request of active members,
with no fewer than two open meetings per semester.
3. Meetings, except Executive Sessions, are open to all members of the M.A.L.E.S.
Club.
4. Executive Sessions may be called by any member of the Executive Board and are
to be attended by Executive Board members only .
..f\rticle VI. Amendments Procedures
Section I. The constitution and the above articles are by no means exhaustive, complete,
~r final, and are subject to addendum and amendment. .
Section II. Addendum and amendments to the constitution require a unanimous
consensus within the Executive Board and a majority of members attending a general
meeting.
Article VIL Ratification
This constitution and all amendments to it must be approved by the appropriate
governing body of the QSA Student Senate.
Article VDI. Conduct of Meetings
Robert's Rule of order will govern the functioning of this club in all issues and situations
