WISP is a unique opportunity for community college students. It is open to students who are studying in technical fields such as engineering and computers or international business and marketing, have previous knowledge equal to one year from other sources, are dedicated to their professional subject area, have favorable social and communicative skills to interact in a foreign society, and have successfully completed at least one semester of German in a community college by June 2008 .

Benefits for participants are: a scholarship for a study program abroad, training in cultural and global awareness, proof of foreign language competence and international experience, increase of future marketability in the national or international job market, getting to know Germany as an efficient and highly developed industrial power.

CDS International, Inc. (CDS), in cooperation with the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) and the Goethe-Institut , arranges for internships in a variety of business and technical fields. The threemonth program starts with a one-month language course at a Goethe-Institut in Germany, followed by 2 months of paid internship with a German host company.
