Queensborough Community College City University of New York CURRICULUM COMMITTEE of the Academic Senate Minutes of the February 19, 2008 Meeting Present: Dr. Frank Cotty (chair); Dr. S. Karimi; Dr. Nora Tully; Dr. Rosemary Iconis; Dr. Marjorie Deutsch; Dean Karen Steele (Ex-Officio); Dr. Emily Tai, (secretary). Absent and Excused: Dr. Richard Yuster 1. The meeting was called to order at 2.15 P.M. 2. The minutes of the December 11, 2007 meeting were accepted and approved. 3. Dr. Cotty reported the vote for New Courses and Course Revisions to support the program revisions to the A.A. in Liberal Arts and Sciences and the A.S. Degree in Fine and Performing Arts for the Concentration in Theatre Arts submitted by the Department in Speech Communications and Theatre Arts to as six approvals and one abstention. 4. The committee reviewed the pre-requisite and co-requisite changes proposed by the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Dance for courses in the A.A.S. Degree in Massage Therapy. 5. The pre-requisite and co-requisite changes proposed by the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Dance for courses in the A.A.S. Degree in Massage Therapy: Healing Arts (HA)-100 Foundations in Therapeutic Massage, (HA)-101 Eastern Massage 1, HA-102, Western Massage 1; HA-103 Eastern Massage 2; HA-104 Western Massage 2; HA-201 Eastern Massage 3; HA-202 Western Massage 3; HA-203 Practicum 1; HA-204 Practicum 2; HA-205 Professional Issues; HA-220 Pathology for Massage Therapy 1and HA-221 Pathology for Massage Therapy 2 were unanimously approved. 6. The committee discussed the proposal advanced by the Department of Business for a revision in the pre-requisites for Business 203: Principles of Statistics, to reflect the elimination of MA-240: Mathematics for Business and Economics 1 from course offerings in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. The committee’s recommendations were forwarded by Dr. Cotty to the Department of Business. 7.
