Minutes of the October 13, 2009 Meeting
Present: Dr. Phil Pecorino (Chair); Dr. Marjorie Deutsch (Secretary); Dr. Moni Chauhan,
Dr. David Klarberg, Dr. Richard Yuster, Dean Karen Steele (Ex-Officio);
Professor Craig Weber; Professor Dolores Weber, Chi Kwan Wong (Student)
Absent: Sin Ying Lam (Student)
1. The meeting was called to order at 2:00 pm.
2. The minutes of the September 8, 2009 meeting were accepted and approved.
3. The Monthly Report for submission to the Senate was reviewed.
4. The Curriculum Committee tasks outlined in the QCC Academic Senate
Committee Activities Report were discussed and reviewed.
5. The recommendation of removal of the two Certificate Programs – Computerized
Manufacturing Technology, and Computerized Architectural Design and Drafting
(CAD) submitted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Design
Drafting, were approved.
6. The proposed changes in prerequisites for ET-560 (Microprocessors and
Microcomputers), ET-350 (Computer Control Systems,) and ET-420 (Computer
Project Laboratory) submitted by the Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering Technology, were approved.
7. The proposed changes in the requirements for the Massage Therapy Degree
Program, as well as the new courses submitted by the Department of Health,
Physical Education, and Dance will be further examined at the next meeting, at
which the department chair and others have been invited to attend. Changes in the
basic Nursing Course will also be discussed at the next meeting and the
chairperson will be invited to be with the committee.
8. The Veteran’s Credits Testing program, which would provide 37 course exams in
several different subject areas, was looked into and discussed.
9. The meeting adjourned at 3:00 pm.
