ITEM Specific charge from Steering Committee:
review of the Degree Program Review Process and Criteria
possible liaison (as needed) with the Special Committee on
General Education Outcomes
 monitoring the success of CUNYStart
 Request data about the CUNYStart program from the Office
of Academic Affairs, particularly pertaining to (a)
passing/placement rates for students and (b) subsequent
performance of students in credit-bearing courses
review of the assessment of courses
Information Literacy / Computer Literacy
On-going consideration of the curricular impact of e-portfolios;
consideration of the possibility of an STX-100 that would be
full-semester, 1 credit (with the notion that the Curriculum
Committee would vet the syllabus of such a course, and review
who would teach it, what it would cover, and whether it would
become a single-credit required course, or a pre-requisite for
English 101.)
Review, as needed, of curricular modifications and course
revisions to accommodate Learning Academies;
Work with the committee on Computer Resources and the
Committee on eLearning to review syllabus modifications to
integrate the E-portfolio into course assignments, or to convert
existing courses into hybrid or asynchronous on-line courses;
Possible liaison (as needed) with the Special Committee on
General Education Outcomes concerning accomodation of
degree program modifications to accommodate the “Pathways”
initiative;

Possible liaison with the designated on-campus “Steering
Committee” appointed by the CUNY Office of Academic
Affairs regarding possible degree program modifications to
accommodate the “Pathways” initiative;
