Carroll, (Student Representative) The meeting was called to order at 2:10 pm in CETL-313. 1) The minutes of the March 1st, 2016 meeting were approved by the committee. 2) The committee discussed the proposed renumbering of History courses (HIST-113, 118, 125, 126, 129, 144, 153, 165, 173, 177, 181, 185, 191 and 195 to HIST-222, 205, 276, 226, 239, 244, 253, 265, 209, 250, 206, 290, 291 and 295 respectively). After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present. 3) The committee discussed the proposed new course HIST-204: “Topics in Slavery.” After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present. 4) The committee discussed the proposed new course HIST-263: “History of American Cities.” After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present. 5) The committee discussed the proposed new course HIST-223: “History of the Cold War.” After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present. 6) The committee discussed the proposed new course HIST-247: “History of the Modern Middle East, 1795-2011.” After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present. 7) The committee discussed the proposed new course HIST-203: “Economic History of the Ancient World.” After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present. 8) The committee discussed the proposed new course HIST-212: “History of Piracy and the Sea.” After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present. 9) The committee discussed the proposed new course HIST-219: “History of the Mediterranean.” After discussing the proposal, the committee voted and the proposal was approved unanimously by those present.
