Monthly Report of the Committee on Committees for April 2013
Academic Senate Elections, 2013-2014
At the May 14th meeting of the Academic Senate, the Senate held a run-off election for the open
member-at-large seat. The Senate approved a motion to hold this election using the clickers with
the identity of each voter not being archived. The candidates were Dr. Julia Carroll and Dr.
Matthew Lau. Dr. Carroll was declared the winner.
Election of New Committee on Committee Members
At the May 14th meeting of the Academic Senate, the following people were elected to a threeyear term ending on May 2016:
1. Dr. Dona Boccio, Mathematics and Computer Science
2. Dr. Jeffery Jankowski, Social Sciences
3. Dr. David Sarno, Chemistry
May 14th Committee on Committees Meeting
The Committee on Committees met to elect a secretary and chair for the 2013-14 academic year.
The committee elected by voice vote Dr. Cheryl Spencer as its Secretary and Dr. Edward
Volchok as its Chair. There were no other nominations for these offices and all nine members of
the Committee on Committees voted.
