Human Services Senior Practitioner Position Number – 2553BR Serve with a team of CPS Assessment Social Workers in the North Central part of the county. Respond to allegations of child abuse and neglect. Perform safety and risk assessments for the children named, and make referrals for follow-up services when necessary. Initiate removal of children from their homes through the juvenile court process in extreme cases. We are looking for someone that would like the challenges that working in an after-hour’s position presents. This means that sometimes you become involved in a case during a time of crisis. You will rely on your skills as a social worker to reduce tension and assess the safety of children. You will get to work independently although a supervisor will always be available to you. You will be a part of a team that works at night and on weekends, but is integral to the success of the day staff. You will have the opportunity to work with a number of different community partners; law enforcement, hospitals, etc. No two nights will look the same. *NOTE - A criminal background will be conducted. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies - Ability to work after hours (nights/weekends) - Ability to work independently - Ability to work with different community partners, police, hospitals, etc. - Forensic interviewing skills Minimum Requirements – Master's degree in Social Work and one year of experience in social work or counseling; or equivalent. A valid driver's license and a "safe" driving record required.
