GRADUATE SCHOOL
The University of South Alabama offers
more than 30 graduate and professional
degree programs. These opportunities
exist in all ten colleges and schools
of the University, providing a wide
range of choice for students. The
level and quality of graduate research
opportunities has contributed to the
University being designated as a “high
research” institution as evaluated
by the Carnegie Foundation.
- President Tony G. Waldrop
Graduate studies at the University of South Alabama offer you an opportunity to focus on subjects that interest
you most, and develop those interests into career-enhancing skills. Higher level positions which involve
demonstrated intellectual skills and decision making empowerment are often only available to people with
graduate degrees. Let USA provide you with the environment and tools you need for creative achievement,
independent investigation, and intellectual challenge as you pursue your graduate degree.

A Look at Mobile, AL:
Located at the junction of the Mobile River and Mobile
Bay on the northern Gulf of Mexico, the city of Mobile
is the only seaport in Alabama. The Port of Mobile has
always played a key role in the economic health of the
city since its beginning and has been supplemented
with growing sectors in aerospace. As one of the
Gulf Coast’s main cultural centers, Mobile houses
the USS Alabama Battleship, several art museums, a
professional opera, a professional ballet company and
a large concentration of historic architecture. Mobile is
also known for having the oldest organized Mardi Gras
celebrations in the United States, dating back to the
18th century of its early colonial period.
