DESCRIPTION OF WORK: LINKS Coordinator provides direct social work service to
eligible youth who have been removed from their home and place in foster care. Works with
foster care youth age 13 and up to plan for independent living upon reaching their majority.
Duties include accessing and administering state and federal funding, tracking services
provided, and maintaining a data base of youths who leave foster care until they reach age 21.
Responsible for assessments, developing independent living plans, planning educational and
quarterly recreational events, and record keeping. Maintains records necessary to report
activities to the state division. Performs related duties as required.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Position will work 30 hours per week. Work schedule will be
Mon, Thursday, and Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm; Tuesday 8:00am – 3:00pm. Must possess valid
North Carolina driver’s license, good driving record and transportation available for use at
work. Prefer experience working with youth age 13 and up, planning and coordinating events
and programs, public speaking, and ability to develop community resources and support.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in social work from an
accredited school of social work; Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an
accredited college or university and one year directly related experience; Bachelor's degree
from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience. College
transcripts must accompany application in order for application to be considered
complete.
