MISSION
The Office of Military and Veterans Services provides support and assistance to our military service
members, veterans, and their families as they pursue their academic goals at Queensborough
Community College. We meet that objective by providing intentional and focused outreach to our
population, while assisting our students with admissions, career services, financial aid/benefits, benefit
certification, academic advisement, outside agency referrals, and other areas that may arise.

Evaluation of Change*
The current staff is serving the
primary needs of our
population. Compromises are
sometimes made for out-reach
services and activities in order to
concentrate in providing
academic advisement, benefits
certification, admissions
guidance, and crisis
management regarding
VA/School debt among others.
Several students have expressed
gratitude for the new space. The
new suite facilitates interaction
between staff and allows us to
provide new students with more
solutions in one space.
Spring
2015
Too early to tell. Expects more
communication between
students and staff with respect
to changes in their course loads.
The ability to send mas text
messages to all who opted in.
