Depart to Eildon, with today’s focus on the Goulburn River system. We’ll work our
way down from the Eildon Dam to Alexandra (where we’ll have lunch) and Yea
and then on to the Goulburn Weir, via the Goulburn Valley Highway. After
inspecting the weir, we’ll view the East Goulburn Irrigation District, and look at
water distribution and land use in the district.
From Shepparton, we head back to Benalla via the Midland Highway.

Today, we inspect the Broken River catchment. This will involve travelling from
Benalla to Lake Nillahcootie, then back via Benalla (where we’ll have lunch) to look
at the Winton Wetlands. From there we will view the Casey’s Weir fish ladder, and
agricultural enterprises and water management at Dookie College. We will have a
good vantage point for views of the Murray-Darling Basin from atop Mount Major.
