To support students’ comprehension and retention the following recommendations will be considered for the following semester:
#1. Restructure midterm examination essay questions that connect background information (previous academic/life experience) to lecture content and request examples of answers provided
by the students.
#2. Use explicit learning strategies (where learning process is described to students alongside lecture)
a. connect the history of the development of art therapy and its relationship to the field of psychology
b. to support integration of metaphor, process and media during studio/hands-on activities to further comprehend how art therapy works.
