Cathedral 7-­12 High School seeks a student-­centered religion teacher. The ideal candidate for the position has experience with religion, theology, and philosophy instruction, the student-­centered learning model, urban education, is collaborative, and speaks a second language. JOB GOALS:
To effectively provide student-­centered religion and theology instruction. To collaborate with the theology department to support grades 7-­12 curricula alignment of practices and expectations for students. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach religion courses for all grades (7-­12) Attend department and curriculum meetings to support student outcomes QUALIFICATIONS: Certification in middle or secondary education Education or licentiate in theology or philosophy (M.Div, STB, STL, etc.) Preferred Qualifications: Experienced classroom teacher Experience working with urban youth Speaks another language REPORTS TO: Principal TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School year (225 days) START DATE: August 1, 2016 SALARY: Negotiated based upon experience Cathedral 7-­12 High School is an urban, multicultural, independent, Catholic, college preparatory school in Boston’s historic South End serving boys and girls of all faiths from grades seven through 12.
