OUTLAW

Drexel University School of Law OUTLaw chapter is to promote the recognition and raise awareness of
gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgendered (LGBT) issues in the legal community. OUTLAW is dedicated
to promoting diversity and tolerance of LGBT individuals both within the law school and the Philadelphia
area as a whole. We strive to foster a sense of unity and cohesion within the School of Law LGBT
community, their friends and supporters as well as to promote awareness of LGBT legal issues.
Additionally, support and encouragement of LGBT law students is a critical aspect of our mission
through which we strive to address the underrepresentation of out LGBT practitioners in the legal
community. We also maintain contacts with LGBT organizations within neighboring law schools as well
as the LGBT legal organizations of the greater Philadelphia area such as GALLOP, Mazzoni Center and
the AIDS Law Project Pennsylvania.

Drexel University College of Medicine has an active student group that networks with other medical
schools in the Philadelphia region. The 2012 meeting was held in Chicago and the College of Medicine
group was active in planning for that event. The College of Medicine group also does local and regional
outreach for the student body community, plans Coming Out Day events, conducts residency selection
advice panels, and organizes other projects. The College of Medicine was one of the founding schools in
2010 and hosting schools in 2011 for the North East Region LGBT Student Health Symposium which
gathered medical students, residents and faculty from the region to a three day meeting.
