High school diploma or equivalent. 2. T.A.B.E. test or successful completion of one (1) year of college work. 3. Extensive business and accounting knowledge and experience. 4. General office skills, word processing and data entry proficiency tests 5. Demonstrate high computational ability and skill. 6. Excellent interpersonal relationship skills required 7. Ability to perform the functions of the position. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. To operate computer terminal for payroll. 2. To figure terminal leave pay on terminating personnel. 3. To prepare and process all payroll deductions. Complete and file all employee forms for each deduction. 4. To calculate monthly, daily, and hourly rate-of-pay, when appropriate, for each position according to adopted salary schedules. 5. To set up, validate, and file employee information from personnel department. 6. To validate and process changes in employee information. 7. To code appropriate function, object, school, program and percent for each employee. 8. To accurately process substitute teacher payroll. 9. To prepare all aspects of summer payrolls relative to summer school and various special projects. 10. To process and pay all stipends and additional hours. 11. To prepare and balance quarterly unemployment 941 form. 12. To prepare and verify periodic reports related to payroll. 13. To order and maintain various machine related forms, checks, and paper. Payroll Bookkeeper Page 2 14. To assist in filling out forms and answering inquiries relative to employee payroll information when appropriate. 15. To complete the regular assignments solely delegated to clerical or secretarial personnel within payroll when they are absent. 16. To assist in answering phone calls and answering questions relative to payroll information. 17. To prepare survey information for various state and federal agencies. 18. To perform assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner. 19. To perform assigned tasks with a high standard of quality. 20.
